The Fred Baxter Foundation was founded in 2000 to support the academic and physical development of disadvantaged youth and families through existing charities nationwide. And, to provide programs that educate, support and empower adults thereby increasing their ability to become self-sufficient and improve their quality of life.
Work began in 2003 to support many of Alabama’s underprivileged youth. Support has already been given to Pike County High School, Bellingrath Junior High School and needy families in Brundidge Alabama.
Through careful research and site visits, The Fred Baxter Foundation has also chosen to support the Emergency Services Division of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Trenton. This represents the second geographic area that will be supported by the foundation at a later date. Emergency Services is a community resource center offering anti-poverty services for anyone in need in Fred Baxter’s current community: South/Central New Jersey.
The creation of The Fred Baxter Family Development Center is currently in the planning stage. To date, a physical location and services tailored to the community it will serves are being determined. Grand opening of the facility is tentatively set for 2013.
